Show More >>Iraq\'s Defense Minister says the army along with Sunni tribesmen were able to gain full control of the city of Al-Bu Ali Jasim in Iraq\'s Northern Anbar province. Fierce clashes have been underway between Iraqi security forces and militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant there since late December. The Defense Ministry has issued a statement saying that Sunni tribesmen were a big help in the equation.
Meanwhile, Iraq\'s capital Baghdad has been plagued with car bombs. The bombs have targeted heavily-populated areas and have killed at least 70 civilians this week alone. The Iraqi army has also claimed gains in the city of Sulaiman Bek. But the number of refugees from areas attacked by the militants keeps increasing with the UNHCR saying that over 300,000 refugees have fled the city of Fallujah and Ramadi in the Anbar province
